Online Poker Tips and Strategies

Where can I find the most effective online poker tips and strategies? I'm sure we'll all be lining up for someone to show us the magic formula for winning at online poker consistently. The fact is, there really isn't and all-encompassing poker strategy or can't miss tip that covers each and every situation we'll encounter along the way to the final table. Should we take an aggressive approach and stampede our way to the final table or play a more passive game and let the fish weed themselves out along the way? We've all seen both strategies employed successfully and have probably done so ourselves at one time or another. It really is impossible to pigeonhole the poker pro into either category. Tune into any televised poker tournament this weekend and watch the overbearing loudmouth fold when he must or the quiet reserved player jump all in when appropriate. We too need to mix up our approaches and avoid creating a tell-tale pattern at all costs.
In order to consistently turn a profit tournament after tournament we need to conclude that not every hand will be the hammer hand we were hoping for. Knowing when to cut bait and run is so very important in keeping our bankroll in the black. If you're stuck with terrible cards right off the bat or are able to recognize that the flop is of more help to the other players then there is no shame in folding. Run away and live to fight another day. It can be way too easy to overplay your hand and burn through your bankroll much too quickly. Don't be a fish and fall into this trap.
On the flip side, you do need to be able to maximize the profit potential of each and every one of your strong hands. The more chips you are able to entice into the pot, the quicker you winnings will grow obviously. Call, check, raise in smaller increments than you normally would but do what you must to keep as many players in as possible. Bluffing is an invaluable tool in your poker arsenal and must be honed to a razor's edge.
Don't be afraid to flip-flop back and forth between an aggressive and passive approach as the circumstances dictate. Slowly but surely you'll develop your own can't miss online poker tips and strategies to dominate the competition. Good luck to all.
