This article is to explore our work ethic as it relates to working online. We're in this modern computer age with all of its potential and conveniences that it seems many of us have forgotten what it took to arrive at this place in time.
Are you still looking for that magicformula or automated business? Well keep looking, because it does not exist. Still, compared to the fate of the masses, I'll take a few online headaches any day. Sure frustrations will arise but the effort is worth it. Anything that is of value requires some effort.
I can always think back to my days as a young bartender. It's the end of the night and the customers have gone home, the tip jar is is divided, and I'm a hundred dollars richer. Now it's time to wash and rack the glasses, mop the floor, empty the trash, stack the chairs, and do whatever else needs being done.
Then there are those good old days in the Navy. Constant responsibility and accountability, keeping my uniforms satisfactory, twelve hour watches, cleaning showers and toilets, painting until you can't lift the brush anymore, and again, whatever else needed to get done.
Then there are my days in sales. Making all the calls, meet and greets, presentations, and guess what else? Whatever needs getting done. Have I sold anything today? What about yesterday? Will I make quota? Am I going to be on top? Am I going to be on the bottom? Will I get more pressure from above? Will I get fired if I don't perform up to par?
By referring to these past experiences, I'm not just out to make a point, but to remind myself of the alternative. I have no problem staying motivated because I know how tough life can get. I guess you could say that I'm driven. Which is why it never ceases to amaze me how unmotivated some people are when it comes to online marketing and they wonder why they're not experiencing the success they desire.
The advances in modern technology have taken out so many inconveniences that we can really focus on our message and services now. Personally I don't mind a little work, if that's what you call it. I think people must fear the frustration or the potential for failure. I really don't know what would prevent someone from taking on at least a part time business on the net.
So remember, a little effort goes a long way and that there are experienced mentors out there to learn from. If you are willing to put some time and effort into your business with positive attitude, I can guarantee you will find success soon enough. Think of the alternatives of not putting forth effort and just eeking a living. We have in front of us the potential for awesome things if we only appreciate how many resources we have available to us.
