Advancement in technology has been of great benefit to all of us. Some of the greatest benefit of technology to us personally is one of convenience. Our lives have become relatively easier because we have various technologies that save us time and effort. In the home, we all use electricity. By the press of a button our rooms are enlightened with sophisticated lighting systems. Some of these lighting systems even have what we call â€Å"lighting on demandâ€. This means once you enter a room, the lights come on automatically and when you leave they go off. The technology used by this lighting system is sensors.
Television has been around for a long time now, but we have seen recently that the frontiers are being pushed. Now we see more advanced technologies in the form of screen display using high definition techniques. This kind of television screens are called LCD or LED screens, making the act of watching television a great experience. For example, one can easily mention HDMI, which means High Definition Multimedia Interface.
In our social lives, social media together with the development of smartphones means that our world is virtually in the palm of our hands. We are able to keep in touch with family and friends in real time even when we are thousands of miles away from them. Examples of social media platforms that have made this possible include Facebook and Twitter. Popular smartphones on which these social media platforms run are Apple IPhone, Blackberry and HTC. Other smartphones come from companies like Samsung and Nokia.
In our work, we see how technology helps us achieve our objectives quickly and make us more efficient. If you work in the office, then you understand that without computer systems it will virtually be impossible to keep track of all the activities that go on at the office on a daily basis. If you work in an industrial environment that involves woodwork, metalwork, aluminium or any form of material, then you will appreciate the use of power tools and accessories such as jigsaw blades, disc grinders etc. All these tools have a common aim of making us effective at what we do for a living.
It is absolutely unquestionable how technology has changed our standard of living over the last two decades. The above is just a few examples of how we continue to benefit from modern technologies. It has become part and parcel of our lives so much that it is virtually impossible to live without it.
