Income derives from commissions from recruits and the products that you and your downline sell.The basics are simple, you have to promote the products and recruit people under you to help promote the products to their prospective customers. With Multi Level marketing the emphasis is on recruitment, you must sponsor people to make money, if this is something you are not comfortable with then this is not the business for you, once you recruit other people to your business they become part of your downline. From there your downline must build their own businesses and you as the recruiter earn a percentage from their business. It is obviously benefical to provide tools and training to the people you recruit as the more money they make adds to your income. Success is built upon the success of others.
So how do you recruit people in to your downline? This is the hardest part of multi level marketing concept, some are great at this and will become very successful, however for most of us this is not the case. Tapping your warm market can be difficult, trying to recruit friends and family, I personally do not recommend this as good way to start, a better way is to get started earning an income first, then they will come to you and want to know what is you are doing to make money, that way your warm market will turn into a hot market. The internet is a great way to find recruits, by using free advertising methods, blogs and social media you can build up a good downline pretty quickly and passively without any cold calling or telemarketing.
Another thing to consider is the company itself, genuine Multi Level Marketing businesses put the emphasis on the product that the distributors are promoting. Promoting the product is the only way you can earn money through the business. If products aren’t being sold then then there will be no income derived, so it is important to work with a company that has great products. Beware of companies that you have to pay to sign up, or have to purchase their products, these could be Ponzi / pyramid schemes because sponsors can be getting paid from these fees and no products are being sold. My overriding view is that the company need products that everyone needs.
Go over their business plans and check them out thoroughly, even if you have to hire a lawyer, this is your business. There are good MLM Companies who are registered and their business and compensation plans are visible for you to see.
My advice is to always do your research first and establish if the Multi Level Marketing Company you are about to join is for real, this really applies to newer companies that are in startup mode but for some MLM companies you wouldn't need to research that much. They have stood the test of time and they are in good standing within the business community, a bad company will not last long. Check out the companies first and see whether they are reputable. Consider a business where the company is listed on the BBB or stock exchange.
