Since launching in June 2011, the USA Network’s Suits has told the story of corporate law firm Pearson Hardman, the lives of its employees and the inside and outside of court dramas they face. Here’s our guide to all the key characters you’ll meet on this hit TV show.
Harvey Specter
“That’s the difference between you and me: you want to lose small, I want to win big…â€
Known for his sharp suits and equally sharp legal mind, Harvey Specter is a brilliant corporate lawyer. As New York City’s best closer, he’s built a fierce reputation for winning at all costs - even if that means not playing by the rules. When entrusted with finding a new Harvard graduate to join Pearson Hardman, Harvey instead meets Mike Ross - who just happens to be hiding from the police following a bungled drug drop. Yet Harvey sees potential in the charismatic young man with a photographic memory. The kid might even have a good future as a lawyer - as long as Harvey can keep his past a secret.
Mike Ross
“Once I tell you I can never take it back. This is my everything…â€
Mike Ross could become the best practising lawyer in New York City - if he only had a degree. From drug dealing and sitting law exams for students who want to cheat their way into the profession, Mike stumbled - literally - into Specter’s Harvard graduate interview room. While the medical bills that keep his grandmother in a private retirement home continue to stack up, Mike hopes that Pearson Hardman will help him change his life. Harvey knows Mike could be brilliant - but he’ll have to prove himself first.
Louis Litt
“Easy, Prince Charles. Where I’m from, you wait in line.â€
Power hungry and desperate for promotion, Louis Litt is a constant thorn in Harvey Specter’s side. A talented lawyer in his own right, Louis is angry and bitter, taking his frustrations out on those around him, while trying to ingratiate himself to Jessica - or anyone else that can help him make senior partner.
Rachel Zane
“I don’t want to go to law school, I want to go to Harvard.â€
Rachel Zane knows Pearson Hardman better than anyone else. In her position as paralegal, she works with all the key players at the firm. As Mike’s unofficial guide to the legal profession in New York City, Rachel’s research skills are always there when a tough case needs a new perspective.
Donna Paulsen
“I’m Donna. I know everything.â€
Donna has worked with Harvey as his executive assistant from the very beginning - from back when he was in the D.A’s office. Making it her business to know everything about everyone, Donna provides unparalleled insight into the workings of Pearson Hardman.
As one of the few people trusted to keep Harvey’s secrets - including the truth about Mike - Donna is an invaluable ally to both men. And in Pearson Hardman, good allies can be very hard to find.
Jessica Pearson
“Would you like to step up to the bench and find out how serious I am?â€
You don’t get your name on a law firm title by being a pushover - Jessica Pearson has fought every step of the way to get to where she is now. Compassionate but efficient, caring yet clinically business-minded, Jessica manages Harvey more than he realises - reigning him in when his tactics become too extreme. Yet most important of all is the loyalty Jessica has for her team: when they face challenges, they can be sure Jessica will be standing right beside them - and she expects nothing less in return.
